Blog Tag: 5 Things You Don’t Know About Michael Stephens

OH! I’ve been tagged by Phil Bradley! See: http://philbradley.typepad.com/phil_bradleys_weblog/2006/12/blog_tag_5_thin.html

Phil writes: I got blog tagged by Danny Sullivan into a game of ‘5 things you don’t know about me.’ If you’re not interested in me (and no reason why you should be) move on now, because the game is that because I’ve been tagged I provide the list and then tag 5 other people. Which is cool, cos I’m just going to blame it on Danny anyway. đŸ˜‰

1. I like taking photographs of abandoned buildings, particularly insane asylums. I’ve got a bunch of pictures on my Flickr account in case you’re morbidly interested in taking a peek. They’re actually very interesting places, and are superb for taking photographs in. They’re also fairly creepy as well, which just adds to the interest factor.

Okay, I’m game, as a break from proposal tweaking. I included his #1 because it’s my #1 too:

5 Things You Don’t Know About Michael Stephens

#1: I love to take pictures of abandoned buildings especially former asylums. Don’t even get me started talking about the Kirkbride method and style!

#2: I usually drink a full pot of English Breakfast tea EVERY morning, before anything else, with splenda and half & half — real half & half after Stephen Abram read the ingredients of fat free half & half aloud at the table in South Carolina. I am most particular about my breakfast tea, so you may see me appear at breakfast with my own tea bags.

#3: I was a busboy for three summers in the mid 80s, working banquets and parties for Notre Dame dignataries and the like. I made tips and an hourly wage and ate for free.

#4: My dog Jake had a Web page before I ever did all the way back in 1995, hosted then on one of SJCPL’s fledgling Web servers. Sadly, I don’t even have an archive or screenshot from then but the Internet Archive has it!

#5: I worked in a video store/music store for 3 years after my undergrad degree while I figured out what I wanted to do. Yes, retail. Long hours. Holidays at work. I learned a lot but most of all it inspired me to work in libraries.

So, to pass it on, I tag Michael Casey, David King, Dr. Curtis Rogers, Darren Chase and Brian Want.
