The Allen County Library has a Harry Potter release party scheduled for this evening 7/19. Here is a link to my blog post describing all the activities planned. It is one of the best community activity by a public library that I have seen.

Our Harry Potter release party was such a huge hit we needed extra security. We hit building capacity not long after the doors opened at 9 p.m., and had about 700 people in the building until after midnight when the book was released, and a line outside with people waiting to get in. Our director said it was about 800 people total. I've never seen anything so crazy at our library, and it kind of makes me sad that it's Harry's last hurrah and we won't get the chance to do something like that again.
