I have to mirror the confusion mentioned in the flickr comments at the above links: What? Why on earth would anyone have a sign like this? Do laptops emit radiation or EM pulses or something that would make them a health threat to certain members of the public? Is it an allergy issue? Or could it be a social statement? Hmmm...

A lot of people, especially the OCD crowd, don't like the click-click of typing. I can see the need for a tech-free space for those who want it--a good portion of our users do.
