My library just employed a brand new website. On the site, each employee can have a biography page like the one you posted. I could not believe some of the resistance I have heard. Our faculty all have these pages, so why not the library staff. People really do downplay how important marketing, communication, and PR is.

Sigh, people keep posting the Miami job. I applied for it before it was widely known on the web- the competition probably just got fiercer. But I can handle it; I'm ready and I am qualified!

I'll say the same thing I did on Brian Mathews blog to other potential applicants: It's the middle of nowhere- you wouldn't want to live there. The only nearby company would be my family- a respectable 45 minutes away...:)
