The public library at which I work as the IT Manager is making the switch to Google apps for domains this summer as well. I'm not in a campus IT setting, but as the sole network admin for a medium-sized public library, I'm happy to hand off the grunt work of maintaining email servers and, most importantly, fighting spam, off to Google. I spend too much time during the day dealing with mail issues and not enough time dealing with putting in a network infrastructure that will let us have a *true* digital branch on the web. I'll be blogging about the process, as soon as I get the announcement out to our staff, so hopefully others can learn from what I will inevitably do wrong!
