Cloud computing will be one of the main topics for years to come on how effective it can be used in the library. I am at an elementary school, so I may have limited use of cloud computing with my students. But, I would not hesitate to use it in my library as an experimental option.

[...] How libraries can use the cloud is a current topic of discussion within many library organizations and associations. At this point in the emergence of cloud computing in libraries there are many questions being asked. How can libraries use the cloud to both personalize and localize the user’s information seeking experience? Can the cloud save libraries money and resources by using computing devices more efficiently? How our users interact with the cloud, how our services may need to be modified to fit into emerging user patterns? [...]

I haven't had much of a problem per se. I just think they web based Mac mail (mobileme) is ridiculously slow and clunky. Two words I don't usually use to describe Macs. I just hope they make the web based run a little smoother.

This is a great post, Michael! I've been very interested in cloud computing (the presentation linked above, our recent switchover to Google hosted email, my utter dependence on cloud-resident applications such as Google Docs & Spreadsheets and Zoho Office-type apps, etc.) and am planning to write a Tech Report for ALA's Tech Source that is at least loosely based on the presentation you linked to in your post. One of the things I'm interested in, before I get started on the project is to discover what parts of cloud-based collaboration people are interested in reading about. Posts like yours help me out a lot!!
