    Hmm in all-caps, too.

  • Cell phones? No.

    Inappropriate material for children? Yes.

“PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING CELL PHONES IN THE PUBLIC LIBRARY”? Capital letters.

US Supreme Court telling the ALA: “The interest in protecting young library users from material inappropriate for minors is legitimate, and even compelling, as all Members of the Court appear to agree.” No letters at all (except a comment by me).

I wish you’d get over libraries making decisions to limit cell phone use. You don’t have to work with the brain dead. Public librarians do. Give it a rest.

  • Texting is pretty quiet.

I’ll just sit here and shout into the wind – If more for less works in a library he/she might be happier finding another way to fill the hours of the day.

    Hope this helps!

We want people to come the library right ? They all have their phones – so I agree – texting is fine. Plus if more for less refers to patrons as “the brain dead” perhaps it is time for “early retirement.” That will truly be a rest , no?
