I wonder if the publisher’s release date has anything to do with this? As ever, I’d love to hear from the library in question as to the motivations behind their practices.

Still? I remember discussing this issue in my LIS 768 class well over a year ago. As someone who has seen this sign in person, I had hoped the library would have changed their policy by now.
Carrie, can you tell us more? I mean, what’s the backstory here?
Weird. They should just make a collage of the covers. Are the books able to be touched/ leafed through? If not, they should just do color copies of ‘em and deal with the possibility of copyright infringement when it happens…I know…not practical.
