#ILI2016 Call For Speakers – London Calling

Call For Speakers

We’re looking for innovative info pros!

Information Today invites you to submit your ideas for this year’s Internet Librarian International (ILI) – the library innovation conference.

Each year, ILI attracts hundreds of library and information professionals from around the world to exchange ideas, knowledge and experience. We’re seeking fresh new case studies, great stories, personal experiences and lessons learned from the ideas, strategies and practical implementations you’ve put in place to make a difference to your organisation, clients and communities.

As always, we welcome contributions from all types of libraries and info pros – public, academic, government, national or corporate libraries – as well as those working outside a ‘traditional’ library setting.

The majority of talks at ILI are usually short case studies of 15 minutes in length. Speakers are matched with one or two others to create themed sessions. But we do like to mix things up a little too.  Let us know if you have an idea for a longer session or a mini keynote, or if you have an idea for an alternative format to share your presentation.

Submit your ideas here.

Send us your ideas on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Innovative technologies and the innovative use of tech
  • Cutting edge services – new strategies, new structures, new roles
  • Transforming engagement – user experience, understanding users and usage, new ways to influence and engage
  • Innovations in content – creation, collaboration, copyright and co-operation
  • Latest developments in search and discovery
  • PLUS workshops

And pitch us some new presentation formats too! We’re looking for:

  • 25-minute mini keynotes
  • 15-minute case study presentations
  • Workshop leaders
  • Panellists
  • Or suggest something!

Our programme focuses on real-world innovation.  At ILI 2015 our programme featured:

3D printers; Altmetrics; Animation as a research hack; Big Data; Bluetooth iBeacons; Censorship, privacy and free expression; Crowdsourced catalogues; Digital libraries; Knowledge visualisation; Makerspaces and the maker movement; Measuring impact; Open resources and open research; Playfulness; Super search skills; UX; video gaming; video journals and more!  We even had musical tomatoes (in a Makerspace session).

The submissions deadline is 15 April 2016, but don’t delay your submission until then. The sooner we get your submission, the earlier we’re on the road to sharing your expertise and learning from your experiences.
