SJCPL Librarians visit SAM

This morning, three colleagues and I visited the Seattle Art Museum . They have a current exhibition of the works of Christian Marclay . It is FABULOUS! If you are in for the conference don't miss it...

The Web site says this:

A central part of the exhibition is the critically acclaimed Video Quartet (2002). This large, four-screen DVD projection joins hundreds of old Hollywood film excerpts that feature actors and musicians making sound or playing instruments. The result is both a moving visual collage and a musical composition evoking hip-hop riffs, John Cage, and appropriation art.

Video Quartet rocked my world...with bits of some of my favorite films and many others working together and in an engagingly disjointed way.
