Hey folks! CIL 2006 is just around the corner! I know the scheduling of both CIL and PLA at the same time is so unfortunate but for those attending either or both conferences, there’s some fun to be had in DC this March. I’ve attended this conference since 2000 and it’s always lively and energizing. What a great excursion to Toronto! It was too short. I got to meet some wonderful folks, talk blogs and library education, and spend time with some of my favorite librarians. Here are some of my favorite moments: Meeting up with Sherri Vokey of ::schwagbag::: fame to speak at the ThisThursday@FIS Invited Speakers series at the Faculty of Information Studies at the University of Toronto. I got to present the results from the librarian blogger survey and talk weblogs and libraries with a bunch of cool people, including a discussion of wikipedia and the wisdom of crowds. Greetings! Looks like I’ll be heading north to Minnesota this May for a 5 day, 5 city tour. I hope to meet up with some cool librarians, so if you live in Minnesota and are coming to one of these talks, please say Hi. I’ll be travelling with Mary Beth Sancomb-Moran, Community Information Librarian for SELCO(Southeastern Libraries Cooperating) and we’ll be visitng points all over the state, doing what looks like a whole bunch of driving and some talking about L2, tech training and opportunities for libraries to use social tools.
