I made it to Texas about three hours late for the start of class but all is well. This semester’s BIG class is SLIS 6910 with Dr. Sam Hastings and Shannon Peevey. The topic: Open Source Digital Library Tools! http://www.opensource.org/docs/definition.php We started with some lecture, software installation and basic command line practice. I am using my Mac for this class — running OS 10.3.7 — and guess what : I have all the tools built in to my system. I open the terminal mode and it is there! I was tickled.
