Thanks Jessamyn for an incredible essay this am! If libraries can make more people feel like I do, that seems like a pretty good thing. http://www.jessamyn.com/journal/06/feb.shtml#13
Why we do this: Libraries and Community
Our afternoon was spent learning about blogs, libraries and what librarians can do with this tool. Each student got a Blogger blog. They agreeed that I could post them here. What amazes me is within 5 minutes opf posting (really as a way to share the URLs with the class) I had a comment from John Blyberg. How cool. Yes, these should be linked and when I have time I will activate them. Right now, I need to drive home through a lake effect snowstorm. http://archives4evah.blogspot.com/ http://urbanlib.blogspot.com http://trainlibrarian.blogspot.com/ http://lovelibraries.blogspot.com http://insidevoicesplease.blogspot.com/ http://cpslibrarian.blogspot.com/ http://therandomlibrary10.blogspot.com/ http://unchicklit.blogspot.com/ http://eroses.blogspot.com http://dustudentblog.blogspot.com/ http://littlelostlibrarian.blogspot.com/ http://schooltechschool.blogspot.com/ http://libschoolconfidential.blogspot.com http://younglibrarians.blogspot.com/ http://becominglibrarian.blogspot.com/ […]

Thanks to Karen and John! Both tagged me so I’d better get on the ball. A great post from Thomas after our recording of a Library 2.0 podcast at Talis. I’ll post here when it goes live. http://lib1point5.wordpress.com/2006/02/01/library-20-and-books/
On January 27th, I spoke at the Panhandle Library Access Network Tech Day. The crowd, facilities and discussion were incredible. We discussed many of these points as well as ways to effectively incorporate and plan for new technologies, such as IM, blogs and wikis. It’s appropriate then to post this list I’ve been working on because I believe these are some things librarians need to be aware of as we move into 2006 and beyond, amid the discussions of Web 2.0, Library 2.0, and the future of library services. Last year’s list is here. These are the things I would […]
