The Ecology of Information: A Future in a Library Without Walls View more presentations from John Blyberg. Don’t miss John Blyberg’s LITACamp keynote. It really got me thinking! He asks some important questions – is our profession sustainable? – and posits that 21st Century Librarianship will be akin to the work of information architects. I think I need to check in with John about these thoughts. Great stuff!
A big thank you to the folks a SVLS for bringing me in to speak with their members. I enjoyed both sessions and spending a couple of days in California was heaven. The slides are here: https://tametheweb.com/hyperlinkedlibrary/HyperlinkedSVLS.pdf

What a great group of folks! Thanks for a fun keynote! The slides are here: https://tametheweb.com/talks09/Trends&TechNewMexico.pdf
The plenary session went well yesterday morning. I was so fired up by the crowd of librarians, library staff and library trustees. I’m also pretty fired up by this great Northwest city and the chance to explore a bit. THANKS to all who made this conference and my visit to BC such as success! The updated version of “The Hyperlinked Library” includes some local examples and some new material. Download the slides here: https://tametheweb.com/hyperlinkedlibrary/HyperlinkedBCLC.pdf
The end of semester crunch is almost upon us, but tonight I leave for Vancouver, British Columbia for the BC Library Conference. I’ll be presenting the plenary session on Friday morning. I’m excited to get back to the great Northwest (“the stars still shine bright…the mountain still high”) and excited to meet the good library folk out there. If you are attending, please say hi. Also, you can follow BCLA on Twitter and via #bclaconf.
I had a great time at the Texas Library Association meeting in Houston. The atmosphere is vibrant with lively discussion, eager exploration and positive energy. My slides are here: The Hyperlinked Library (TxLA Version) Ten Technologies & Ten Ideas
I’m still decompressing after an incredible week in the great state of Arizona. Thanks to the good folks at the Maricopa County Library Council Continuing Education Committee, the Arizona State Library, and everyone from all of the libraries in the state who attended my presentations of “The Hyperlinked Library.” I learned a lot talking with various library folks over meals, breaks and at the Hermit’s Rest on the Grand Canyon trail. 🙂 Special thanks to Mark Floor, Glendale Community College, for all of his planning to get me out to Arizona during the Dominican spring break. Download the presentation slides here.
This past Saturday I spoke to the Illinois Library Association Trustee Forum. It was a full morning of a customized version of “The Hyperlinked Library” and it left me fired up. I really enjoy talking to the folks who make decisions for their libraries. Thanks ILA! Download a PDF of the slides here.
